hogmaw
Either will do fine, most people prefer the F1s tho'
SteveR
I've got (pretty new) Bridgestone S02's on the back of mine, but as these aren't available any more, was thinking of getting Eagle F1s on the front - good/bad/indifferent move? Mike B
I have had three sets of them now, but won't have another as they literally melted on the car at bruntingthorpe... like driving on treacle - beads of rubber rolling off the edges... I was told it is common on F1's.. really good road tyre for normal driving but they don't like getting hot!
Wez
Great road tyre as there dry and wet performance is great. For track get something like R888 which Bobbeh used on his last outing.
The Restorer
They're a softer compound so very good in the wet as well as dry. Obviously not recmmonded for track days, but I've had my rears on for two years 15,000+ miles and they've still got six months tread left on them. Are they also ok for day to day road driving though? (e.g. wet roads) What make are they - still Goodyear?
Dave Haggas
Looks like the right choice so far;) .I had Falken ze 502s on my last tt and they seemed good value.I have F1s on my old TR 8:blink: and they seem pretty good. Mike B
I'm sure this topic has been done to death but waht is the best trackday/realworld compormise? Toyo T1-R? Terry S who built my current car had Mitc' Pilot sport all round - he was a very demanding driver and did quite a few trackdays.

F1s are no worse than any other in that regard. You'd avoid it with something like the 888s, but they are lethal in the wet.
Mike B
So it sounds like an additional set of tyres and rims for trackdays then? do many people run two sets?
SimonB
I was planning on doing that, using my stock wheels with trackday tyres on. Gets expensive though!
Dave
got goodyear f1s on mine brilliant tyre stick like that stuff to a blanket:D

razza
had some fitted recently, had continentals on before and these are so much better, a lot less friction loss when giving it the boot
chilli
interesting topic, I also need new tyres soon. Got Bridgestone S02s on the front and falcon on the rear. What about the other contender, the bridgestone re50a? I've always really liked bridgestones, are the F1s better still?
mattanna
gsd 3 are excellent, unfortunately they will last about 10 weeks before becoming goodyear slicks, alright if you have a never ending supply of money, lol:p have not used them on a supra though

Bobbeh
I got 12k out of the last set of F1s I used. I would recommend track tyres if you want the best out of your car on a track day... not road tyres.

How much did you pay for the track tyres Bobbeh?
jamesmark
I have got Avon tyres on my TT, the car has never slipped and in the wet under hard breaking again never had any worries.
