MrDriver
Hello there, When I opened my hood to check the engine, I tried to close it. But when I let if fall it to the lock it popped back upwards. I have noticed that the little lever under the dashboard stays outwards! And can't put it back in the normal position, it stayed in opening position What can I do about it, want to drive home after work without the hood coming into the windscreen Thanks for your time! Todd
Is it both the latches that aren't holding? Whatever be careful pushing down trying to close it, very VERY easy to bend that metal on the bonnet
MrDriver
I think it's the locking mechanism in the middle that is stuck. Made a phonecall to my mechanic and he says it's the cable (what is connected with the lever under the dashboard) that got stuck. At the end off the cable there should be a little ball that got stuck? I hope I can locate it. I'll be carfull with the hood Todd, I know those are a bit fragile. - Peter -

MrDriver
OK it's fixed! For free woohoo. The two locks that keep the hood down needed some oil, they was stuck. Fixed in 1 minute. Am happy now as I can go home without worries. Thanks for all the fast replies. - Peter -

paul mac
i cringed when a toyota mechanic showed me the "correct" way to close a supra bonnet, you literally drop it from about 8", if you dont do this you risk not engaging the clasps, NEVER push it down with your hands it will not engage properly and you WILL dent the aluminium
