RAR password cracker?

Is there such a thing as a freeware, none password length crippled, RAR password cracker? I have some rar files that are password protected and I have lost the passwords... Thanks.

I found a brute-force one once but it crashed my comp and still didn't crack it.

 

I'm watching this thread with interest - i've got a few files that I have "lost the password" for as well

There are a few ones available but brute force cracking could take an extremely long time if the password is long (Its not uncommon to see 1000 years completion date )

 

Was it likely to be a 'normal' word as the password or is it going to be something complex?

If you used a normal word you should be ok.

If it wast something numerical, mixed etc then it will take longer.

I have one at home, ill dig it out when i get chance if need be. Some can take aaaages, but more often than not you should have a result within 24 hours.
