tbourner
The NA only really drinks less when you're giving it beans. Both are around 22mpg otherwise.

Nic
Hi ive just bought my first mk iv aero, and am reliably informed that this is the team to be with for help and advice.so here goes where do you folks reccomend to start for a bit more go, ive already fitted a trd gen 2 pipe,k&n filter, and am just waiting for my delimiter chip to arrive as we speak. any suggestions gladly recieved. best regards to all Andi. Welcome to the club Andi, any of the new motor? You'll only get modest gains modding an NA compared to the TT. Here are a few suggestions to get the best out of your car: 1. Get the car thoroughly looked over by a specialist and given a full service, ie. plugs and all fluids changed, to make sure everything is running sweetly. 2. If you are doing a lot of miles and want to get the best fuel economy from the car, I would also recommend fitting new oxygen sensors if they haven't been replaced in a while. The oxygen sensors send info to the ECU so it can adjust the air/fuel mixture, if the O2 sensors are worn out the ECU will default to a rich mixture, which can have a significant effect to fuel economy and will also effect engine performance. The O2 sensors are not particularly cheap, but they will pay for themselves in fuel savings very quickly if you are doing a lot of miles. 3. Is the K&N filter mounted in the stock airbox, or is it a pod type filter? If it's the later, then you may have actually lost a few hp's, as the filter will now be sucking in hot engine bay air, rather than cooler ambient air (the stock airbox has 2 exterior cool air feeds and is not a restriction on an NA or TT). 4. Removing both cats will give you a little extra response and power, but it will make the exhaust a LOT louder. 5. A tubular manifold should give you around 10hp extra (these also replace the first cat), pics here of the one I sell: http://mkivsupra.net/vbb/showthread.php?t=83236 6. Toyota fitted 2 options of brakes on the Supra, the larger spec 4 pot front/2 pot rear and the smaller spec 2 pot front/1pot rear. Most NA's came factory fitted with the smaller brakes, which are a little under powered for a big car such as the Supra. Ideally I'd suggest upgrading to the larger setup, as it is gives a good improvement in braking (see pics and prices here: http://mkivsupra.net/vbb/showthread.php?t=80288) Alternatively, to get the best out of the smaller spec brakes, a good quality set of pads, braided brake lines and a decent brake fluid (eg. Motul), will improve brake bite, pedal feel and minimise fade. 7. Other set up suggestions would be decent quality tyres, upgraded suspension (the yellow Bilstein dampers are a very good VFM upgrade). cheers
