steve spedd
Well.. Last weekend I finally got round to the dreaded task of changing my heater matrix in the hope that I would have to stop wearing gloves and a hat to keep me warm Started on Saturday afternoon taking the dash to bits and trying to see where the million screws and bolts were, and what they held in! I've never seen so many wires in a car! Left the car at a stage so I could remove the heater matrix Sunday morning. I was surprised how easy it was, yeah I know its time consuming but as long as you take your time and remember where bits go its not too bad!! So I now have heat in the car which is great :D Will post pics up later.... A now happy supra owner, Steve

Sounds like the same problem to me mate i'm afraid. try flushing the system out first though, it could just be blocked somewhere.

tDR
My heaters dont warm up (aircon on and off) - I hope its not the same problem anyone have any ideas? Try checking / replacing your thermostat first - it may be stuck open or missing altogether (if it's been like this since you got the car). Cheers, Brian. charlton
Sorry but I have a full jobby sitting in my garage that i need to get rid m8 - just up the road from you if you can use it? I may need a new thermostat for Christmas and be giving you a call soon! Failing that can I bring my car to you and I can try replacing a few things to see what the problem is? (or is that too cheeky? ) Try checking / replacing your thermostat first - it may be stuck open or missing altogether (if it's been like this since you got the car). Cheers, Brian. I have used the SEARCH button and found many helpful things to help me fix my heating in the car (I'm happy to wear more clothes but the missus isn't) but how do I tell if the thermostat is stuck open? tDR
Take it out and see lol - you're as well just replacing it whilst you're there, they aren't expensive - £20ish for a Toyota one iirc, less if bought from a motor factors.
charlton
I dont have a clue what it looks like!!! I'm gonna take the whole thing apart and make sure nothing is stuck open - unless its the throttle
tDR
I dont have a clue what it looks like!!! I'm gonna take the whole thing apart and make sure nothing is stuck open - unless its the throttle Trace your upper rad hose back from the radiator.... at the other end is where it joins to the thermostat housing - unbolt this to get to your thermostat. Drain coolant first though as you'll get a bit wet The new Toyota ones come with a seal iirc but best to use a little blue hylomar sealant on it too when installing the new one. Cheers, Brian.
