Jonny5
[sHOCK][/sHOCK] while I'm on with a few other 'small' jobs, I thought it would be the time to ditch the twin tubs:eyebrows: been doing lots of searching about how to dismantle them but crikey what an ass of a job, I think I've spent about 7 hours in total over the past couple of days.. Once I got the EGCV off it wasn't too bad from there on and I managed to remove the lot, in that turbos left attached to the manifold.. such a relieve to remove off the car:blink: so now look forward to receiving a load of early xmas pressys of all the parts required and get on with the single install.. cheers Jon.. silvershark44
wouldnt it be easier to just drop the engine out?
grahamc
Good luck with this... and remember, those turbos are MINE! Looks like a lot of work ahead of you... What exactly are you putting into that car?
Jonny5
no worries Graham..i'm only going for a small setup as I prefer to have as little lag as possible, and felt that a 61 would be great starting point..From what I've read on here I think the fueling side would need to be looked at to progress to a 67mm>, maybe sometime in the future.. I've gone for a precision turbo and have started to collect some bits & pieces, manifold, downpipe, wastegate etc.. cheers Jon..
Jonny5
wouldnt it be easier to just drop the engine out? maybe in some instances yeah, but I felt that the key to the whole removal job was the EGCV, as once I removed the most awkward nut on the top of the EGCV, (which incidentally with mine being a uk car had the ABS/TRAC pump in the way) it was pretty straight forward..
