Benzsupra
Ok i know this has probably been covered a million times but i haven't got much time cause i'm at work and my internet is off at home so i'm not gonna be able to check here for a week now. Apologys out of the way my questions are : 1\ Can a uk oil filter be used on a j-spec cause these seem to be the only ones halfords sell. 2\ If not does anyone know where i will be able to get an oil filter from over the counter in the heathrow/ashford area? 3\ At the moment i'm using GTX Magnetex cause thats the only 10w 40 synthetic oil i could find, any suggestions on what else i should use because i'm told this stuff isn't all it's cracked up to be. The only place i really know where to get oil and stuff from round here is Toyota or Halfords and an oil change is overdue so i wanna use this week to do it. Thanks for any help. AdzC
1 - I got a filter from my local motor factors which I think was the same as UK spec (in stock as well) made by Blue print 2 - See above 3 - I use fully synthetic 5w/40 Valvolene (but i'm NA) so if your stuck perhaps just go for the best synthetic you can find. Again my local motor factors stocked the oil Have a look in the yellow pages and if you get chance pop to a local motor factor shop they tend to be quite good value. Tricky-Ricky
I have used Blue Point filters and Shell semi synthetic on all my cars, never had any issues with either, in fact i had an oil analysis done on the oil after 3,000 mls in my old S14 335 bhp and the result was very good, in fact better than some of the exotic/bloody expensive oils available;)
Konrad
Just ordered mine from: http://www.opieoils.co.uk/ You can get oil filter, oil and more stuff from this guy - I suppose there is few members, who can vouch for this guy. Delivered in 2-3 days to wherever you want in UK (free delivery to door if you are member of this forum). Also on this site there is few useful links to companies, who produce oil filters, oils and spark plugs with model search option - so you cannot go wrong http://www.mkivsupra.net/vbb/showthread.php?t=56684 All kind of advice about fluids and filters. Use FAQ and search option sometimes
