Fuel light

As jake says, the tanks are plastic so no problems with corrosion and a healthy weight saving too, therefore they dont have that much gunk in them.

I used to fill mine just aftert he light came on, and it would take anywhere from 60-65 litres, so I would say about 9 litres when the light comes on.

The gunk in the tank is an old wives tale. Think about it, does the fuel line run from the top of the tank or the bottom?

Because the line is at the bottom of the tank (to allow it to empty) it is already sucking juice from the bottom of the tank so trying to keep at least half a tank in to prevent he fuel coming from the nether regions of your tank doesn't work, any bits will already be working their way to your injectors.

i always thought the pump was at the bottom of the tank with the little filter thing on, and that pumped it to the top of the tank.

Well, it's a 70 Litre tank. When the light comes on how much fuel do you need to put in to fill it up?

As for old crap in the tank, I've never seen any in the fuel tank when I've fitted fuel pumps.

Thanks for that. Its always nice to know you have been talking shit for years ;)

In all honesty it nice as i have alwasy worried about sucking shit in.
