Hi,

I have found some drop in 550 injectors that will fit straight into the original NA rail. With an uprated fuel pump will i get a significant power increase or will it just over fuel?

Also has anyone fitted a power boost valve as on one website they claim a 12hp increase?!?!

:search:

as others have said there is no real need for them, uprated injectors are only needed if the engine requires more fuel input....ie if you have uprated your turbo etc

Heres a question though. Could you use the bigger injectors with a mappable nitrous/safc type fitment to direct inject the fuel seperate from the gas???

Do you mean a dry shot ? Where the gas is not mixed with fuel prior to it being injected into the cylinders ? Aren't there kits out there that can do that anyway with progressive controller ?

Though, I've heard a wet shot is safer.

LOL nitrous needs fuel so the engine doesn't cook. Alot of systems use single point injection, others use multipoint to try and get the right amount of fuel spread across all the cylinders. The best way of getting the extra fuel in would be to put it in via the cars injectors. If you could map an SAFC type thingumy in conjunction with a nitrous progressive or maybe even have a box that does both you'd have the best nitrous setup you could get methinks. Oh and nitrous is perceived as one of the better non forced induction method of improving N/A performance.

Oh i c! So ur kind of saying if the NA was overfueling from using the bigger injectors it wouldnt be a problem if the right NOS system was being used?

No what I meant is like most have said the N/A won't be able to use the extra fuel bigger injectors provide unless you upgrade something in a major way. Nitrous is one way and I thought perhaps bigger injectors controlled when on nitrous input might be a better way to go than the way most systems are now, that is all. Just trying to justify your 550's for you lol.
