RedM
Remember this thread? Driving home this evening I was in a residential area. It was dark and raining so I'm sticking to the 30 limit. I slow to let an oncoming car go by as I had a parked car in front of me. As I pull out and go around it I hear heavy braking sounds and there is someone sat on my arse. The road went round a bend and then a long straight with cars parked either side at intervals. The driver behind decides to overtake. Way to brake the limit dude! I flashed main beam on and note that the car is a blue Focus. Alarm bells ring and I back right off and let it go. I can see it ahead weaving around parked cars and at least one overtake into oncoming traffic. What a wanker.
Jake
I flashed main beam on Why?
michael
The police (an absolute babe) seemed to think it belonged to an old guy but the chap that was driving it when I saw the car was fairly young. Sounds like a similar driving style though, did he have a hammer?
michael
Why? To see him better?
RedM
Just to annoy him, Jake. It was only a brief flash and much better than using the weedy stock horn. Had it been light I would have stuck a finger out the window. What would you have done?

I wouldn't try to annoy somebody I was scared of. I get people flashing their main beams at me all the time. It makes me laugh how they think they're somehow punishing you by flashing their lights. I just think; Flash away mate, it's not bothering me at all.

Hmm, I didn't know it might be the same guy until I flashed him. Shitty JDM headlights etc etc. I wish I was as calm and thick-skinned as you. Jake
I wish I was as calm and thick-skinned as you. I'm neither of those things but it seems like you're even less so. Deliberately trying to annoy people and then bottling it and backing down just seem kinda silly. I almost never flash my lights or blow my horn at folks. I don't see the point. It's not like anyone is going to not do something because you might flash them. If I reacted to these dawdling twats flashing their little lights they might think they have somehow 'got even' with me. I just act as if I haven't even noticed. Rather the opposite I think. I could have sped up when he tried to overtake, I could have kept my lights on main beam, I could have chased him down. Instead, I expressed my displeasure, saw at the same time that it might be a driver that shouldn't be tangled with (and it's actually an incredibly slim chance that it was the same person) and decided to be adult about it. Plus Police and Thieves (Clash version) was playing and that makes me drive all slow.
dangerous brain
If someone really grips my shit enough I scream at them loud enough that they hear me in their cars stereo on at WOT or not. I also froth a bit at the mouth Thats not a good thing. I followed one dozy nork that came straight onto a roundabout without even looking down their exit and for over 3 streets with my hand planted on the horn you could hear my blood curdler over the horn as well. I think they got the idea I wasn't pleased.
