Guest moddy
hi, at weekend i changed the manifold and exhaust on my wifes civic and i also threw in a decat its a jdm full racing one, sounds brilliant and goes like stink, my problem is it wont go over 95mph gets to 90ish very very quick then seems to die. so i decided it could be a breathing problem so i replaced the stock air box with a k&n induction system. this hasnt made any difference at all, it gets to 90ish then creeps slowly to 95 and stays there, and i just know theres loads left to give.also when i changed the stock airbox for the induction one i was left with a sensor of some description?? so what i need to know is: 1. what else could be causing the top end problem, 2. what is that sensor for and could it fit elsewhere. its a 1997 honda civic coupe 1.6lt non vtec uk spec thanks
lucasl
hello mate the sensor is the intake air temp sensor, it needs to be put in the intake pipe before the throttle body, im guessing with a full exhaust manifold and and decat there could be not enough backpressure to the engine this could cause a loss in performance.
