RedM
If I were to buy a DVD/HDD recorder with built-in Freeview I'm assuming I could use it alongside my current Freeview box to watch one Freeview channel while recording another. How would I connect the aerial up though? Freeview box -> DVD/HDD -> TV? Would the two tuners being in-line cause a problem?
Kranz
Would work fine like that mate. Just got myself a Pioneer DVR-440HX-S. Bargain at 229 notes. It has an aerial in lead, and an out lead to the next appliance (TV/digibox/WHY). So would go DVD/HDD > Freeview. Then 2 Scart leads to the TV, as long as your TV has 2 scart inputs? Would not cause a problem
RedM
We have three scarts and Component, so no issues there. I'm assuming that the units pass the signal along as well as output it to the TV which allows one to watch one FV channel on one scart setting and another channel from the next unit down. MrRalphMan
Don't use a cheap arial splitter as they half the signal to each box. Inline should work fine, as long as the digibox/recorder passes the full signal.
michael
I'd be tempted to keep the DVD player seperate and then go for something like this: http://www.dabs.com/productview.aspx?Quicklinx=44D6#UsedStock Also: http://www.digitalspy.co.uk/forums/forumdisplay.php?f=
RedM
The DVD player will be separate. We output it to Component sockets for maximum image quality. Any HDD recorded programmes that get burnt to DVD will be watched on the separate player, not the recorder.
