Guest pedroorange
Hi there, just new to the MKIV and very impressed so far. Was wondering about a few things in general. RZ-S 95 Model Auto 80K miles 1. When do the cam belts get changed? 2. Valve stem seals, i read the guide for checking before buying a MKIV and it stated smoke on idle, blip throttling and hard accleration, but how much smoke, as its very cold at the moment it does look like "humans breathing out" and is intermittant, so not sure if its a problem or not???? 3. Want to fit Alloys instead of the stock Toyota ones, what fittings should i look for, and any ideas of "good alloys" for the look???? 4. Any recommendations for garages/specialists in Scotland?? Thanks for any advice
Jake
1. When do the cam belts get changed? An Advanced Search for Thread Titles with the key words Cam Belt Change will give you all the info you need mate. 2. Sorry, I don't understand the question you're asking. 3. Want to fit Alloys instead of the stock Toyota ones, what fittings should i look for, and any ideas of "good alloys" for the look???? You need 114.3PCD alloys with an ET50 offset. Lighter weight the better. Nearer to 17" diameter ones will give better handling then 20" ones. 4. Any recommendations for garages/specialists in Scotland?? No idea.

Is this just on cold start? I get smoke on cold start but im pretty sure its just condensation in the exhaust due to the very cold outside temp. Stem seals has slight blue tint to the smoke i think as its the oil burning up. My supe idles high on cold start so obviously if its idling at 1600rpm its gonna pump out more exhaust fumes than 600 when its warm. I get no other smoke at any other times! Pete
Official Toyota service routines are in the downloads area which are accessible once you're a paid up member.
