Ark
Best way to Alton is the A339. Awesome bit of tarmac since they re-surfaced it a couple of years back. I'm happy to carry on to the west meon hut, because then I can blast back along the A272 to Winchester...in fact, everyone could do that, then back up the A33/A30 to Basingstoke. Nice round trip for everyone.

So everyone agreed then?? By the way what roads are we exactly using to get there as im not sure where it is??
squiffy
a339 out of basingstoke, to alton. then onto the a32 down to the pub, then the a272 (on the crossroad of the pub) back to the m3. OR we could stretch our legs down the m3 first, (to the a34 junction) then cut across to the pub on the a272
Ark
Why would you drive down the M3 to pick up the A34, when you could take the A30 to the same place? Much better driving. And you miss the A339 that way...
