Gerry
Hi... I shot with a 12 bore from the age of 14 until I met a falconer when I was 17 and got completely hooked on that. I was fanatical about both, used to get up before light so i could walk a couple of mile and get into a hide before sunrise, all for a couple of pigeons ! Sat there for hours some winters watching the ice form on my (then) long hair ! Happy days... Only take a twelve to Scotland now when I go hawking up there, just for a bit of sport with the bunnies, never had land for grouse up there (not to shoot at anyway, just for falcons) but had fun with duck & snipe. Had a couple of years with pistol target shooting, thats good too. Always fancied stalking, but never enought to actually do it. G

dangerous brain
) but the plastic sa80 just felt like a toy well dissapointed You shoulda been in when the SLR was being used, now that was a mans gun. Some people complained it wasn't automatic but a small modification made it automatic no worries. 7.62 mm of nasty surprise is way better than any 5.56 mm I shot SLR, poxy SA80 1 and 2 (the 2 is labelled up Heckler and Koch what a load of bollox), 60 mm rockets and GPMG. Various sniper rifles and 303's at the gun club I used to be a member of.

dangerous brain
Do you mean a BB gun or a proper air rifle? If you mean a proper air rifle what sort of target are you talkingabout? I ask as like any equipment the range is very varied. If you want to take a couple of pot shots at a can at the end of the garden then a cheapy will do. If you want to take a pigeon out of a tree 50 metres away then something a bit more sophisticated will be required.
G-NEMIE
Loved shooting for many years from a young army cadet shooting anything from an old bolt action 303, SLR, 9mm Browning Pistol to a Bren Gun. Then when i met my wife, the father in law (ex DC) introduced me to Full Bore Pistols and Practical Pistol Shooting along side the Police Shooting Team. Personally i had a Smith & Wesson 357 Magnum Revolver, and my Favorite Colt 45 Automatic I used to shoot most monday afternoons and in many competitions. making your own ammo was the best chill out job of the lot casting the bullets , straightening the cases, priming and capping great times I decided to sell up just before they recalled all the full bore pistols but really miss it as a sport.
