Conrad
My old man is having a cinema room at his house and has asked me to sort it. Only trouble is I know nothing about them. It will be ceiling mounted and projected onto an electric screen about 8ft square. He is willing to spend around £1000 for the PJ and £500 for the screen. The screen will be used mainly for movies but a little TV too. What kind of things do I need to consider? I've been told DLP is better than LCD etc etc... I'm just really unsure where to start. ChrisSZ
Look at the lumen rating (output) and stay away from the cheap ones - they're pretty crap. With that kind of budget you should be able to get a really good, quality set-up

JustGav
DLP is a new technology than LCD and certainly looks better... Thing with DLP is, it is also quieter I've found. As with any good audio place, they should be willing to come out to your place with a few demo models and let you view them in your own environment..
