UK Spec Pad & Fluid Change??

Wipeout

Recommended Posts

OK, after reading the search results, I want to clear a few things up.

I will be doing a front pad change and fluid change. UK Spec Manual.

I have the pads (stock) and 1.5L Motul RBF 600.

Do I need to buy a shim fitting kit? I want it to be easy as possible!

I found these part numbers, are they correct for UK Fronts?

04947-14010 Fitting kit - £10.40

04945-14110 Shim kit - £9.94 Posted Matt.H.

I see that some of you recommend removing the squeal shim from the pads, is this required or just personal choice, does it improve things? (They seem hard and good at the moment)

Next is the fluid change.

I found a post about bleeding the trac system when doing the brakes, this is the bit that sounds fun!! Is this required? obviously it is, but being no expert on this, it might be disastrous. Are there any clear idiot proof instructions out there? or tricks that I might need to know when doing it. I was hoping to just keep bleeding the new fuild through, the same way i have done in the past on other cars.

Thanks in advance

No point getting my hands dirty if he's willing to do it for me, but i if he's busy i may tackle it myself. Hopefully he won't be :)

Cheers.

Does anyone have some useful info on what i might need to know when doing this. Thanks.
