Guest magic dr.shoon
hi. I'm interested in owning an aerotop manual, but they don't make them. (as you all probably already know!) I've read the thread on converting to manual, but I was wondering if it would be easier to get a manual and convert it to an aerotop. Would this be possible, and if so would the initial outlay be cheaper than the auto-manual conversion. I know you can sell the parts you take out of the auto to make your money back, but I'm talking how much money do I need to do the conversion, including labour. Cheers. Ian R
Defo not. Have you seen the top gear when they take the roof of the espace that would give your answer. The Aerotop is strengthed in the factory and if you try to convert a hardtopper would handle like jelly IMO

JustGav
Use the search, there is no way you should consider it, there is a lot more structural stuff that you don't see, the aerotop and hardtop are NOT the same body shell....

You could re shell a 6 speed TT into an Aero top shell if you can find one.
Scooby
I have one. It is a lot of work going from Auto to manual. However Clarkson, Hammond and May proved thet making a convertable is even harder!
