I have done this once before on a VW Bora whioch was straightforward enough but is there anythig I need to look out for on the Soop!!!?? Kranz Posted October 31, 2006 Share Posted October 31, 2006 The pad retaining pins for the front calipers can sieze in the caliper, needing drifting or even drilling out. Put a little plus gas or Wd40 on the pin where it goes throught the caliper body (making sure it doesn't go on the dics or pad). A small blow torch to heat the caliper up a little may help too... and a drift that's just under the diameter of the pins. Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

Kranz Posted October 31, 2006 Share Posted October 31, 2006 Should be quite easy, just note how the shims and springs and stuff go into the calipers & on the pads. And don't forget to apply copperslip to the back of the pads (to help stop squeal) & to the pins where they go into the caliper (to make it easter next time!)...
