Toyboy
Correct me if I'm wrong, but I think at the moment, having the CAT's removed is not illegal in terms of a car being roadworthy (mine passed its' MOT with them off). But if the law changes to lower the 'legal amount' of (whatever) emissions, would this make us have to put our CAT's back on, and lose all that lovely power ? Marty
The fella from the mot garage told me that if it passes the emmissions test he didnt care if it had a cat on or not:) If what you have said is true, its going to make it a real pain for us single supra's

SimonB
You don't have to have a cat on any car, new or old. But you do have to pass the emissions test which is stricter on new cars and usually the only way to do that is with a cat. The new tests only apply to new cars, not cars already on the road. Class One
Any change in emissions outputs would not be retrospective but only apply to newly registered cars. The amounts that are currently in force will remain so.
