SupraStar 3000
- J-Spec's Supras have a plastic lense (tendency to go yellow) - UK Supras have a glass lence - Facelift Headlight don't have side lights and are black. So, if in my infinite wisdom I bought a set of HID import style bulbs for my J-spec and I wanted to achieve the black look of the facelift headlights the only way would be to open the lights and paint them myself. is that right! Don't want to ditch my J-Spec's lights as they are in perfect condition.
Rayman
Yeh thats right or sell your j-specs and buy facelift j-specs!
Ric
take them apart and run the risk of ruining your perfect condition lights with condensation
Rayman
take them apart and run the risk of ruining your perfect condition lights with condensation Yeh how come your original j-spec lights are in such good nick Edd? I thought mine where good but yours look like uk glass lights from the pics they are that clear!
CardiffSupra
You know you want the abflug ones..... go on..... its Christmas.
MR.B
You can paint them and achieve a good effect but you will still have the sidelight 'blobs' in there. Facelifts look much better without them
colsoop
You could open them up and paint them, while they are apart you could fill the original sidelight hole with fibreglass, it comes out with a couple of screws. If i were you i would sell yours as they are quite new aren't they ? Or get hold of a secondhand + cash for your old ones and do the above with them. SupraStar 3000
humm,... My current lights are only 2yr old, as I had a small bump and coudn't live with one new and one yellow light so I bought a new set from toyota, but didn't fully appreciate the joy of UK and Facelift's DOH!!! This current set seem to have lasted fine. Not a spot of yellow and perfect condition. Problem is, I have a HID kit for them which I can't use if I buy new facelift headlights

SupraStar 3000
Going down the Gzaerojon route now. He's done me a great price on just the upgrade to facelift style. At least this way I can keep my HIDs Mybe look into your Ab-Flug's as a future mod Nic.
Pete
Problem is, I have a HID kit for them which I can't use if I buy new facelift headlights Why do you think that you can't use your HIDs on facelift lights? They're the same fitments as j-spec old style.
Street Dreamz
Is it worth getting them refurbished?

SupraStar 3000
Is it worth getting them refurbished? I think so! Only £50 to turn them black and Chrome seems very reasonable to me
Nic
I though facelift light are only UK type (ie. not the same bulbs) The facelift J-spec and pre-facelift J-spec headlights use the same bulbs ie. 9006J and 9005J

Only £50 to turn them black and Chrome seems very reasonable to me I can't stand the fact they have almost gone to a now very noticeable yellow car...ruins the look of car in my opinion. Nic...i saw your post for the lights you're selling, do they come with bulbs?

Nic...i saw your post for the lights you're selling, do they come with bulbs? Hi Do you mean the facelift headlights here? http://mkivsupra.net/vbb/showthread.php?t=76750 These don't include bulbs, but they are a straight swap with your early J-spec headlights ie. your bulbs will fit them. I have 2 pairs in stock at the moment if needed. cheers

RobSheffield
One day I'll bring a girlfriend to a Supra event and you'll be standing there saying "yep! had her too Ed" To be fair, with my current love life turmoils, its unlikely! Ill say 'yeah Ed, took her out, wined her dined her and then she went by to her junkie chav ex......'
SupraStar 3000
PMSL: so, are you calling me a "JUNKIE CHAV" I know Rob, I feel your pain bro. Its hard for us 'fit' lads to find partners. So many expectations are put on us, just because we have flash cars etc etc...
