Boo do a quick guide heckler or just tell me :p

Ok

follow the instructions as per my guide, up until the EL wire part.

take 2 strips of prototype board - which must be narrow enough to fit between the white plastic parts and the button switches.

Solder 6 5mm LED (so inline with the buttons) to each strip, then cut the tops of the LED off, so there roughly the same height at the white plastics parts.

Solder a section of wire and an LED to the strips.

Place the strips on the PCBm and solder to the PCB. When looking at the solder side of the PCB - the negative pad is the lower one. the rest can be traced from this one.

Solder 2 3mm LED/Resistors to the top right (looking at the solder side). And 1 3mm LED/Resistor to the small PCB.

There - a quick guide for you.

Out of interest why aren't leds like this http://www.ultraleds.co.uk/product_info.php?cPath=44&products_id=302&osCsid=e864ccbb54786d3132bd67df5f97fb89 used on the slip control button and inside the heating control unit where the green rubber coated leds are?

because LED are directional... for the slip/trac the LED's would point directly down and no, or very little light would be emmited through the button. For the Heater control - it would be uneaven light distribution, possibly very dim too.
