Can't find it on there at the minute, it was a while ago I did mine. The stuff i got didn't plug into the lighter, there were just two wires which I tapped into the wires for the ashtray light. Kieran
what is mcd? and i think that might of been the different type of LEDs i was thinking of MCD means millicandelas and is the how brightness of the LED is measured. When I did mine, I got the resistors and diodes etc from Maplin and the LEDs from ebay and followed the guide here http://www.internetwork.org.uk/led/led.htm

heckler
there is another way of doing the heater buttons - using LED's and prototyping board, very involved, but the results are much better. I do all my heater controls like this now. I also had too many problems with the EL wire invertors going "pop"
Underworld
Yea not cool. Oh well ive ordered mine from the propper people, hopefully that will work! The last thing I wanted was for my car to randomly set on fire or anything. Would be cool if you updated the guide with your new way of using leds! Do you make a long thin bit of board to back onto the buttons?

Steviekid
There was a thread a while back about using these as a direct replacement for the stock backlight clear bulbs with that green rubber cover on them. Has anyone tried them or know if they'll work?
Underworld
Yea i just got back from work and had a quick look. I was wondering why dont we just replace the green rubbery ones with blue ones. Then figure out something for the other knob.
