SimonB Posted October 28, 2006 Share Posted October 28, 2006 Not having shims won't make your pads rattle, they are there to stop them squeeling, and taking them off actually improves the bite and feel of the brakes quite a lot. If you're missing the anti-rattle clips that could make them rattle, they are the springs at the back that go between the pins as Chris said.
