In the 60's there were a few new bands on the scene like The Beatles, Rolling Stones, Pink Floyd, etc. These are still talked about and revered today. I wonder if we will be talking about some of these "gangster boyz" (sic) in 40 years time? I somehow doubt it very much.

well i don't talk about them! and the people of my generation dont talk about them. So who does? all the 40years olds and above. when i hear a beetle track now. it makes me laugh how all the old cronies say "eeee back in the day they brill" They only made an impact cause some popped it. Otherwise they would all be has-bins

so is that ok for me to say or are you all gonna get defencesive. because that's what reaction I'm getting here.

Nothing nasty in my post - just factual. Oh, by the way, the key lock button seems to be defective on your PC. :)

If 50cent was to get shot now, you'd all say he's only made an impact because he's dead.

Wrong. He's made an impact now. He's one of the many rappers who who is doing alot of business and selling the most records. but if you don't follow the music you wont know.

Do you think 50 cent is good at what he does?

Do you think his raps well?

Do you like his lyrics - assuming he wrote them?

or do you think Dre (who could creditably could say invented Gansta rap) and Eminem grabbed the first geezer they found, slapped an endorsement on him and shot him to super stardom?

I think my dog could be the next big thing in hip hop these days with the right backing..

You say you're a big rap fan, but are you subjective when you listen? or do you just think 'all rap' is good? because I do find, especially these days, there is an awful lot of cack out there...

..and I don't base 'whats good' on awards or record sales.. that can be engineered...

oh god i've opened a can of worms now lol.

I know all about 50cent and who owns him and yes i agree that dre is the daddy of rap. although he used to be gay. and also agree there so much shit out there at the moment it makes me cringe listening to it. I'm not saying i love 50 but his style is unique and different and if it wasnt for dre and Eminem he probably wouldnt be were he is now. but the fact is he is good at what he does.:)

ne1 who puts pac in the same catergory as all the other rappers who rap about how big there guns and how much drugs they smoke as never even bothered to listen to him and should do them selves a favor and have a listen to the songs brendas got a baby or god knows to find out what he was really about. The man was a genious he once wrote and recorded 7 songs in one night and that album went on to sell well over 10 million copied. He was also a very good actor and would have been as big as will smith is if he was still alive

Biggie did not rap about the same things as pac and was more in the mould of todays rappers but big was all about the flow and also how he could link words together that no other rapper could he was great at telling a story. big never wrote down any lyrics and could sit and write a song in his head while sitting at a piano

both of them where amazing what they done in such a short space of time and no other rapper has ever come close to ever of them and probably never will
