The engine oil specified for your cars engine is pretty basic calling for API SG, a standard that became obsolete in 1993. Castrol GTX Magnatec 10W-40 exceeds API SL, the current standard and will therefore be more than adequate for your engine. If you want the best than we suggest that you consider Castrol Formula RS 0W-40, full synthetic, available from Halfords. Regards Use of oil Hi My car club is debating the suitability of Magnetc 10w40 in a MKIV supra twin turbo engine. As for the lexus V8 filter I have pulled the stock MKIV and the V8 filters apart they are made of all the same filter material; you just get more of it in the V8.
