Poncho
Hi all just after a bit of advice on my brake situation been having problems with the rear drivers side caliper rubbing, to the point where its making the ar horrible to drive. i have replaced the disk, and also the caliper, but its still happening. seems to happen mainly after some hard breaking, the car has trouble pulling away again. the caliper i replaced it with was second hand, so im in the process of getting a new one to be sure its not that. But If this still does not fix the problem, what else can it be? cheers for any advice.
Gordon F
Have close look at the brake pipes going to the wheel to make sure that there is not a kink in either the steel pipe or rubber brake hose. Check it's not happening on the other rear brake as well which would point to a dodgy master cylinder.
Ric
Rubber hoses can collapse internally too, looking fine from the outside but blocked on the inside, although im not sure if this would cause the problems your experiancing
Poncho
All other brakes are fine gordon f, have checked, its only the one thats playing up. So if the problem is still happening i should change my brake lines? well braided it is:) got to look at these things as an opportunity. Gordon F
Braided lines all round will be a good thing, but have a very good look at the steel pipe that leads to the caliper that you are having problems with. If it has a kink or has been flattened, this could be the issue.
