Guest Daz V6
Hi everyone, my name is Darren (Daz) and i am the proud owner of a 1997 2.5 24v V6 Ford Probe. oh no...... not a Probe, i hear you all say LOL love them or hate them, i love it to bits. and there is a massive following for the probe - pop along to http://www.ukpoc.co.uk where i am a member of admin and have a look. anyway - sorry i went off on a tangent there point is, i have just bought this on ebay...... http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&ih=016&item=260042161960&rd=1&sspagename=STRK%3AMEWN%3AIT&rd=1 now i need to know the measurements. (should have checked before - lol) i imagine a few of you must have this spoiler fitted and wondered if any of you would mind measuring the width of the spoiler (outside edge at the 'back' of the spoiler) and also the measurement inside the legs each end (so i can work out roughly where the fixing points come on the bootlid) also if you wouldnt mind, how far up the bootlid - towards the window, the spoiler goes. there is a spoiler made "supra-style" which fits the probe, but i thought i would try the real thing !! also - im looking at getting the supra vent for the bonnet (wanting a fake scoop not a functional one - not fancying hacking the bonnet up or the expense of a real on - does anyone know where i can get one for reasonable money ?) thanks in advance Daz PS - i love the supras and would love to own one, but 1 - too expensive and 2 - im not selling the probe so until i can afford 2 cars - i will stick with "Ebony" if anyone is interested, here is my car at present. http://i19.photobucket.com/albums/b155/DazV6/Ebony/dazv608.jpg http://i19.photobucket.com/albums/b155/DazV6/EA%20Oct%2006/100_0821.jpg http://i19.photobucket.com/albums/b155/DazV6/EA%20Oct%2006/100_0820.jpg thanks guys
Kranz
I always thought Ford got the name slightly wrong whan they named it the Probe. I still have visions of bending over for the doctor Anyway, £21 for an original rear spoiler is peanuts. I'm sure you'll get it to fit. I don't have the measurements to hand (the Mrs has hidden my tape measures), but it'll go on somewhere! I'd adjust the positioning by eye if I were you. These things are not likely to contribute much to performance, so as long as its on the back it'll be fine. You can get a bonnet scoop on fleabay for about £50. Welcome to the MKIV OC with your 99% Ford 1% Supra
Guest Daz V6
Welcome to the MKIV OC with your 99% Ford 1% Supra thanks for the welcome....... Its gonna be a Suprobe ;-) PS - the Probe is 99% Mazda and 1% Ford
Ian W
thanks for the welcome....... Its gonna be a Suprobe ;-) PS - the Probe is 99% Mazda and 1% Ford i take it it's based on the MX-6 is it?
Guest Daz V6
i take it it's based on the MX-6 is it? yes, it is supraman built in the mazda factory in flat-rock and imported to the uk. the only thing "Ford" on the car is the badges. (and all my external badges are gone) Ford know very very little about the cars and over-charge big-style on parts. any Probe owner with any sense avoids Ford at all costs and visits Mazda if they need to. the 2.0 16v variation of the Probe is based on the Mazda

juanchan
That looks pretty good mate. Not so sure on the rear windscreen spoiler though. Love those wheels!
AlanM
Yea, looks fine, but windscreen spoiler spoils it (my personal)
