Animal
Yeah, I got a refund yesterday from Lik-Sang for a couple of psp games. Bah, no Initial D: Street Stage for me, then.
Mike
Apparently even Sony's employees in Europe where using Lik-Sang to get hold of PSP's ahead of the European launch.... http://www.reghardware.co.uk/2006/10/25/sony_slams_lik-sang/ edit: dam too slow! SteamAhead
Was a little stupid of Lik-Sang listing the names of those at Sony who bought the psp from them, I can understand why they done it, but still a bit stupid Really do hope they can make a come back though as there prices have always been pretty competitive for importing games & stuff. Have also used http://www.play-asia.com/ in the past, wonder when they'll get hit by Sony? PS3 is looking not to bad. Same games, prettier graphics. Think it will be worth waiting a good year before purchasing (Sony consoles always have something wrong with them on first release don’t they) Of course there will always be those that will be willing to pay £600+ for an import or Europe release, It's up to you but I think your MAD. You only have to look at the 360 on release. Stores where fully stacked up within couple of months after release but those that could not wait had to spend £600+ More money than sense I think. For me, I'll await the arrival of Nintendo Wii (only couple of months to go, ). £179 for console, 2 unique controllers, games bundle. What more can you ask for Good old Nintendo
Nic
£600+ is that the price they will be? I don't think they'll be that much here, I need to wait for pricing though.

SteamAhead
£600+ is that the price they will be? I don't think they'll be that much here, I need to wait for pricing though. They have said £430ish on uk release but when the xbox360 was released people where paying £500/£600+ (though that was ebay) I did hear a while ago that when the 360 was released, people where hovering around the games shops and tried to offer double / triple prices to people that managed to snag one on first day. JUST MADNESS I TELL YOU, MADNESS

Branners
discussion of importing PS3s should NOT be done on the forum please folks. If Sony put the frighteners on lik-sang enough to make them shut down then we cant take a chance. sorry. JB
rob wild
Hi JB Could this be moved to members only, too discuss the hypothetical rights and wrongs of the situation and a general discuss about the PS3? I understand if the answer is no
Branners
I would suggest not. I dont know the full story but if Sony have got a site like lik-sang shut down then they mean business on this. I prefer not to play about with somebody like Sony. JB

I prefer not to play about with somebody like Sony. They didn't get Lik Sang shutdown. Lik Sang have been peddling cheap shite and illegal import stuff for years and were probably pinning their survival on the PS3. Sony then made it illegal to import them so they shut up shop. It wasn't Sony closing down their site as such. [edit] There was more to it accused of violating SCEE's trademarks, and of infringing SCEE's copyrights by posting a copy of the PSP manual on its website Basically they were treading on thin ice anyway. Sony haven't approached any websites for simply discussing importing product AFAIK.

Pete
and your thoughts on the BBC article which states they will use the full extent of the law to stop illegal imports? JB They won't be shutting us down. BTW - the user manual is on Sonys site for interested parties - http://manuals.playstation.net/document/en/ps3/current/manualindex.html This is interesting too - Open Platform, officially run other OSs on it. PB ah, cool, Im sure if you say so then they wont be looking for sites facilitating illegal imports, even though BBC dedicated a whole article to it. Tell you what, set up a PS3 import forum on your company web site and see what happens when Sony find it. The rule still stands, no discussions on PS3 imports. This and the other thread will be tidied up and closed shortly. JB

I wouldn't run a forum if you paid me. I couldn't put up with crap from people like me.
