hogmaw
Oh my heart bleeds. You´ve had 20 years of glory, now it´s time to face up to what fans of 99% of other clubs have to put up with week in, week out, year in, year out. Think yourself lucky you don´t support Rochdale, thumped 7-1 yesterday and languishing in the lower league, or any other club apart from ManU or Chelsea for that matter! I know it's a different scale bud, but we haven't won the league for 16 years! Different standards though you know? It's like when you decribe a fit famous woman as 'not bad', only because you are comparing her to the likes of your fave fit sexy famous women. The reality is if that said woman walked in your local, your jaw would drop! You see where I'm going? Got a bit side tracked there
BASHTHEBISHOP
When you have the 'tinker man' as a manager i think you will always struggle. IMO you need a settled team that get a chance to get used to playing with each other. Gerrard is by far the best centre midfielder in the squad but doesnt play there most of the time:blink: Gonzalez is an unproven youngster - bags of pace but no finished product yet. Should be a useful sub for a season or so IMO. Garcia was playing where today again? & half the player he was promising to be. Hypia is well past is prime so things can only get worse for him. Finnan has never had any pace so got toasted all afternoon by a 34yr old who used to have some pace. & did we see him push into man u's half at all? Rise - quality when getting a chance to go forward but with 5 midfielders in front of him he didnt. Alonso is so hot & cold and plays where gerrard should. Sissoko IMO was your best player today followed by koyt who got no service bar 1 cross. Doesnt matter to the manager how many goals crouch scores on a consistent basis he is a 20 min sub:blink: I think you have a top 4 squad of players with a manager who doesnt know who to play them where and when and it might be time he moved on if he cant play the obvious choices in the obvious positions. All depends my friend, a 5th place finish + FA cup + Chamions League final place is unlikely to result in the sack, and Liverpool have never really been a sacking club.......until Monsieur Houllier
hogmaw
we haven't won the league for 16 years! I know what you´re saying, but take a reality check once in a while. You´re half way up in the prem - not near the bottom AND you won the league very recently, how many teams have won it, in living memory, at all? Think yourself lucky you´re a Liverpool fan, regardless of your current form, because you KNOW that it will change for the better. And lucky you that you DO know that, most footy fans have no idea week in week out whether they´ll go up or down or what

SuperSupra
This the lowest point i can remember since the houllier days, the champions league win has put everyones expectations up! Yep, but we all know the champions league victory was not exactly like the good old days when we'd outplay the best sides in Europe and beat them comfortably. We scrapped for 1-0 or 0-0 results, and needed a penalty miss by arguably the greatest goalscorer in Europe right now to win it!

SuperSupra
Thats true, quality of play wasnt there! Absolutely. Only time I really saw us play really well in the knockout stages (other than against Leverkusen cos they were shit) was in the first half of the first leg against Juventus. Then Villa next sat, fingers crossed.
Alan999
Well i have to have a moan aswell. Really thought there would be a difference in the way Liverpool played for this game as it was against Man U. It looked like Man U felt sorry for Liverpool and let them off only scoring the 2 goals! What really pisses me off is that they always just seem to play the longball now. Why? They always play a hell of alot better when they keep the ball on the ground and pass it about. This has been proven over the years by the way they have played, PASS&MOVE! & shit me they even made a song about it:p Another thing how can anyone expect a side to play well together when it gets changed so much and the best players get played out of position? One last thing is why did it seem like all there heads were down from there start? It looked like they had all admitted defeat before they had even started playing. I mean WTF even Gerrards head seemed to not be in it which is something you never see. What ever is going on needs sorting and quick! Rant over, and i feel better now:innocent: By the way well done to Man U (which is something i thought id never say!) Looking good this season.
