SimonB
Since someone was after some photos of the circuit boards of the stock ECU in this thread and I happen to have mine sitting here I thought I'd take it to bits and post some. Thought I'd better start a new thread rather than post them on that one in PHRs section. This is a 6sp ECU (non VVTi).

Any chance of a close up image of the back of the circuit board with the three square chips on it?
SimonB
Here you go, front and back of that circuit board at slightly higher res...
JohnK
They're a bugger to open arent they! All that sealer. Simon, have you gone standalone now? I still have that jack you wanted too

Soonto_HAS_soop
Any chance of a close up of the rear of the wiring plugs? How difficult are these to open up and get into? I was thinking of wiring my emanage into the inside of the ECU as apposed to the wiring loom....

You'd also have to have a hole in the case. As for how hard to open, its not that bad, just a lot of that very sticky black sealer.

Was just a thought I had, I've not seen the pins or how closely they have been stacked. Also, just because something is hard, doesn't mean that it is not possible... JohnK
I woulnt say its impossible, close and a futile exercise. The pins go into the ecu then turn 90 degrees down to the circuit board the inner pins being in rows inside these.

I still have that jack you wanted too Hi John! Must admit once I'd taken the screws out I couldn't figure out why it wasn't coming apart until I realised it was sealed! Bit of leverage with a screwdriver sorted that Yeah, I've got a Motec M600 now. It's running really well apart from a bit of smoke on full boost which I haven't got to the bottom of. Think it's the oil seal on my turbo that's leaking a bit. Must come over some time and pick that jack up!
