Elliot
Great thread everyone, it's definitely worth discussing to see if it can work Isn't it true that a lot of mechanical problems don't become apparent straight away? One problem is you might leave feedback straight away when you're happy with your purchase/work, then a couple of weeks/months later it might go pear shaped & the what...? Could this be started initially with just a list - no feedback involved? Specialist Toyota/Supra garages or tuning companies in different areas or counties that Supra owners use and are happy with. I think I've put too many of these in this post! -> ////////

Green Peace
Some great ideas, and forward moving attitude. It would of course be a bit ambitious to find the ideal person to mediate as it really does need someone with enough technical knowledge who has a bit of time I guess to make up for the technical shortfalls of some of the BBS members including myself. Though as much a questions person as an answers one I guess. If we had a second person also who was up on first line maintenance to eleveate the workload and deal with the minor problems maybe that would help too. I kind of see his/her role as someone who kicks in when all else fails, and we should all approach this person only when we have good reason to do so. This person would then approach the Trader Tuner and ask the questions and translate it on in private in an effort to smooth any misunderstangs between Trader/Customer. As I say only in extreme cases when EVERYTHING FAILS would appropriate action be taken , however I can't see it getting to that as this would act as a buffer, and the stream (if any) (or smoke he he) would be released in private. Extremely Extreme cases would result in them being asked to leave the BBS lock stock and (smoking turbos) until they have satisfied the Mediater that a settlement or amicable agreement has been met. and a simple notice of suspension posted possibly(no details) Now I know it all sounds a bit 'legal'ish' but the end results would benefit all, traders and tuners too, with no bad press or slagging matches. I guess you have to remember my antics from last year as a bit like an EXTREME pressure group...I'm New Green now! Edited: to fatten out a couple of sentences btw
Syed Shah
Sounds good Green, you have put a lot of thought in to this. I think what you have will serve as as good a base as we can get. Any changes would result from experience. So all we need is a mod/admin to add a little section for this etc. It needs to move to the next step now it has been worked out on paper. Roy
agreed syed - now we need a structure ie who etc etc. anyone care to post a few suggested names ?
Robbie
This thread has become very interesting and in the most very positive. An area/thread with positve/good recommendations would be very usefull indeed. I know these can be found on other threads but a consise area for the work done and who did it can only be a good thing:) Leave out the stories of woe, mine alone is very long, very expensive and the reason I began this thread. I've now had six different garages work on my supra including toyota. Some of the reasons for moving to another garage has been down to the personality of the owners others done to honesty, quality of workmanship and once the garage shut down with my car in bits... So all in all my best supra results so far have been with Chris Wilson and Gary Passingham at GT ART.
Scooter
Robbie i can't believe it was over a year ago since we duelled (ok i followed you) at pod. Have you not had the car properly running since around that time? i remember seeing posts where you were selling this'n'that but i thought this was just you maybe changing your mind! I remember how enthusiastic you were back then and its a shame to think this may have been somewhat dampened by whats happened since

The Pink Lady
I have only owned my Supra for almost a year and have no knowledge of cars or engines at all.I was recommended to use Stuart Sandy Yoyoda Tech Fouracres, Wickham Road, Droxford, Fareham, Hampshire. SO32 3PD He is an ex Toyota technician and also provides excellent service at a reasonable price. I know several other supra and celica owners use Stuart. Mandy You also said that japspeed might be good to do the supercharger that I was initially looking at doing. They were pretty much spot on the price mark and all that jazz but I have chosen another route now. Any idea who they would have used to do the tuning and rolling road aspect of the job? Dude:flame Dev No I am completely replacing the engine, gearbox, drivetrain, and all associated wiring and sensors with a whole different set from a TT into my N/A so I want to be sure that all is working properly and is tuned up proper. dude
All you need is someone to check the fueling then , if anythings out you cant allter it you can just replace parts , basically your conversion should be 'plug and play' which is why i said change the whole loom and ALL the little black boxes !!!!!, Good luck dude . dangerous brain
Having no back up from anywhere and no-one UK side that has done this job I would prefer to find any problems or things done wrong on a test bed ie rolling road instead of on the road. Timwildman
Theres 1 rolling road in christchurch I think, longman racing. Not heard any good stories about them though.
Nick_TC
Sorry to be a numpty, but if your doing a complete TT swap, why do you need anything checking??
Syed Shah
It should throw up the error codes for you if you've done anything wrong. I doubt you need a rolling road at all, if you wire something wrong, you'll know!
dude
As Syed says , it will either work or not and if it doesnt you cant allter anything anyway , but its still nice to KNOW everything is fine !!!!! Dude:flame Dev
dangerous brain
Cheers fellas. Its very scary doing this job. I am crappin it in case I don't change summat I should or I leave summat unplugged and the whole thing goes bang in my face! This is how much tech I know:- Where will I get the error codes from?? Now maybe you see why I want it looking at properly when I am finished lol. Anyone can lift a donk out or in this case drop it out the bottom and put a replacement in however making it work afterwards isn't so straight forwards or am I needlessly worrying?
