Ball Joint Dust Boots - Where from???

Afternoon all,

I need some ball joint dust boots that go on the rear hub (See my wanted thread: http://www.mkivsupra.net/vbb/showthread.php?t=86169). Does anyone know where to get these individually as Mr T want to sell you the complete suspension arm!!

I've tried Jezzybabes, he has some but they are manky. Are there any universal ones that would work? I've seen some that energy suspension do but don't know who stocks these.

Any thoughts??

have no idea what these are but chances are Toyota aren't lying as they do tend to sell suspension components as whole arms rather than seperate pieces.

am sure there's a couple of supras being broken at the moment though so take a look in the parts for sale section.

am sure Gruggs and Supradibbs have cars that are being broken.

Uh-Oh!

I'm worried about using the ball joint separator I have coming now, as if I split the other two it's going to be a hugely expensive job!! Saying that the ball joint's aren't moving anywhere with a tap from a hammer, so maybe my car will always be on axle stands! :(

I'll try the other two guys you suggest, just thought there may be something universal. Surely these must get damaged from time to time when people take their car in for bearing changes, what happens there?!

I couldn't find a ball joint splitter off the shelf that would go anywhere near the larger of the three joints on my car. I managed to get the two smaller ones undone by buying the Macine Mart one and modifying it with an angle grinder, but the large one: No chance. :( What a wasted weekend that was.

As said it is not possible to replace the ball joints you will need to replace the complete arm.

I can supply brand new arms for the following prices if needed, order time around 4 weeks from Japan plus 5-7 days postage to UK.

Rear Upper Arm = £118

Rear Lower Arm = £67

Can't use silicon sealer as it has split quite badly. Still hoping someone on here will come up trumps, and I agree it is ridiculous that these can't be bought separately - 50p pieces of rubber and toyota stick you down for a whole new arm (literally!).

Thanks for the heads up with the part no's Nic, doubt I can wait another 4 weeks to drive her though, and still hoping to find the cheaper alternative.

I'll try the local motor factors at the weekend if I don't get a result on here. I'll keep you posted if I manage to find anything universal.

Any other comments/ideas welcome......

Just an update, I couldn't find anywhere that would do replacement boots :(

Tried all local motor factors and some alternative Toyota specialists, ended up ordering a new arm from Toyota with quite a lot of mark-up from the price Nic supplied!! I couldn't wait another 4 weeks to drive it though.
