Flipfinger
Sorry, didn't know which place to put this..... Has anyone had a respray done on their Soop / got a quote for one? I'm going to look (2nd look) at a nice red one in a few days time, and, while the paintwork is immaculate, being the fickle person I am, after a year or so I'll probably want it a different colour. Is it best to go with the normal Supra colours, or should I go unique? The Soop itself is unabused, and fairly cheap (it's an NA, but I've had a drive in it and it's enough for what I want.....even compared with the TTs I've driven) - I figure buying it and getting it resprayed will still be cheaper. Anyone with advice / possible costs? I know they're normally quite hefty.....
Phil
Kaleel had his blue one resprayed a darker blue/purple colour. Very nice job and it cost him around £2500 I think. Have a look at http://www.sonicsausage.com/
Branners
Martin Bradshaw on the big list had his mkiii resprayed in the same colour but with a metalic flip for about £600. Quality looked good, cant comment on how long the paint would last at that price though. JB Shop!!
Guest Ash
The guy you need to talk to about paint is, er, whatshisname, just gone right out of my head. Speak to Justin, he'll know right away who I mean. Oh, this is daft, it was on the tip of my tongue a second ago. Please tell him somebody................. Flipfinger
Thanks for all the help. I have to say, I'm tempted by the scheme that the ONLY other Supra Mk. IV in Ipswich has got - it's silver, no - it's blue, no, it's green.......wow
Doughie
sounds like a flip-flop paint job. it's a TVR option. v.expensive. £1800 option on TVR's apparently. there was a Tuscan with flip-flop paint at Le Mans. very flash. In a way though i think it's too OTT as if the car has a strong shape, it doesn't need a multi-colour paint-job effect to stand out. IMHO. Flipfinger
I've seen a Tuscan with one as well (and to lesser extents, Alfas with similar) but this one is absolutely amazing; the levels of colour change are really dramatic. I'd probably just settle for a silver colour; they look extremely nice on Supras.
GavinL
Hi... Silver is nice...tell us the price when you have one
Flipfinger
It'll probably be a 'six months after I've bought it' respray; but I'll get quotes for it pretty much as soon as I get it, and tell you guys how much the damage would be. Rolec
My brother has an iridescent blue Alfa 156, its an incredible paint - its a silver/green colour in bright light, but than turns to a pale metallic blue as the sun moves around it - really cool - but i'd hate to try to touch it up. Those of you coming to Donington on Sunday will see it - i won't be in the Supe as we needed 4 seats - Wasn't going to sit in the back of a Skyline either !! Dean.. Rolec
Nick Phelps is certainly the man if you want a really professional paint job - he did my front lip for me - brilliant job - 1 year later and no stones chips in it.. I saw his brothers Cosworth which he'd painted - it was absolutely tremendous, when i get my side skirts, front lip etc. i will definately be getting him to do them, as he plasticises' then so well. Might get him to do the full respray later next year  Dean..
Branners
hmm, I wonder if he can do my car for me before Billing. Anybody got his email address to hand? JB Shop!!
Flipfinger
If he does, can ya give me the details of price etc? And where he does business of course! I live the wrong end of the A14
Branners
I think he lives in Milton Keynes, so not exactly local for you. I can probably find his address through a but of searching but if its readily to hand it saves me having to do that. JB

francesca
The multi colour paint is probably one called Reflex by Dupont, which is applied in 4 layers, primer, groundcoat, colour & lacquer - trade price including cost of thinners etc works out at nearly £1000 per litre...
