If it has a slight rattle on start up which goes when pressure is up then worry it is a bad sign, i.e big ends have gone, mine only had symptoms of slight oil leak and coolant leak and on further examination revealed entire carbonisation of engine, appears to be more common on aristo than supra:search:

Well I haven't driven the sodding thing for so long because of the brakes that I can't remember how it sounds, but from inside the car there is no discernible rattle. Under the bonnet you can hear the injectors as per Supra but I haven't noticed anything else, but bit worried as engine failure would mean the end of the Aristo as I can't justify spending that much on an engine rebuild. I don't even have that much to spend on an engine rebuild

Why didn't you call me then ;)

Thats really bad news Tom, hope you get sorted.

Gaz.

I would have done if the asking price was 9.5k lol but as its not and I'm not cheeky enough to try it on I left it. I have fingers in several pies so I'll wait and see how it all pans out :D If £9.5k delivered to rotterdam is a realistic offer let me know :D

Hope you get this sorted pal, andit wasn't anything to serious.

If you get stuck I know a couple of people on LOC who have done some extensive work on the Mk1 Aristo's - RobJonk and Norkep are good people to start with if you need anything :)
