Paul R
Hi, I need a CW de-cat pipe fitting. Chris is busy at the moment and cant get my car on his ramps to do it. I've got an FCD already and I'll fit that tonight. Can anyone recommend a trusted and experienced garage in the N/W or midlands that could fit the pipe?? Otherwise I'll just wait til Chris is free! Cheers, Paul.
albundy68
pritty simple to do yourself isnt it???
Paul R
Come and do it for me then mate I dont fancy doing it with the car on axle stands in the road! I havent got the luxury of a garage or anything. The can be a PITA anyway if the bolts have seized and there wouldnt be much room to maneuver to drill them out. Paul. Syed Shah
It is simple to do. If you don't want to do it yourself (I agree it is a PITA without a car lift), just take it to any exhaust fitter, it will be fine.
Paul R
Hmm...but will an exhaust fitter have restrictor rings and such like?? doubt it! lol Paul.
Syed Shah
Take all the bits you need, just have them fit it.
albundy68
you wouldnt know what size restrictor you need untill its fitted anyway would you??? or are they all the same??? from what ive read 90% of the time you dont need a restrictor anyway, im no expert though... Paul R
Sorry, I dont trust anyone with my car! What if they bugger the turbo elbow studs up? then I'm buggered! I've just talked myself out of it. I'll wait til CW is available! Paul.

michael
Any dodgy backstreet spanner monkey should be capable of doing the decat pipes, if they have stud issues chances are they will also have extraction tools and studs so don't panic Avoid somewhere like Kwik Fit by all means but a general, well established mechanic should be more than capable of doing the work. And if you need a restrictor ring try using your restrictor foot less heavily on the RH pedal until you get a chance to order one
