Southbend DXD clutch

I would recommend AGAINST the sprung hub clutch disk version of this (this is the one you would get if you have a solid lightweight flywheel rather than the stock one). Mine broke with metal fatigue where the springs are mounted after about a year/10000 miles. Looking at it afterwards you could see it was an obvious weak point. Shame because the clutch itself was great.

I think the non-sprung one that you would get to go with the stock flywheel should be fine though.

I read this in a previous post from you mate - I will be going with the non-sprung one.

I'm not going to change the flywheel unless it needs changing, i'm under good authority that it does the job quite nicely

It's surprising how much power a Centerforce dual friction clutch can handle. Andy @ RSE ran big twins, about 600 bhp for 3 years on one (about 60K) held great but he avioded big standing starts. While stuck for a clutch, he gave me his old centerforce, which i did a track day, the ring, almost Austria and back with much hard driving before it started to slip. Felt like stock etc. I'd go with it for sure again, but if your for the 1/4 mile .....nope!.

I have a Southbend clutch and lightened flywheel sat in the garage, not sure whether its the DXD clutch or not, I can try and find out for you if you want.......

Clutch has done about 15,000 in total and clutch plate that came out still has some wear left on it.......
