Ebay scums problems

Recommended Posts

Sold an item to someone 2 weeks ago and he paid through paypal, once he received it left me a positive feedback so did I.

now after 2 weeks I noticed he reversed the money out of my account and no reason for it, called paypal and they say they cant do anything because he was an un verified customer, ebay say its not our job and try to sort it out with paypal!!!!!!!!

now I lost my good and money all together and a scumer like that twat is getting away, and this is killing me just to see Im being done this easy:(

any Idea how to get the bastard done for theft etc?

I had this done to me as well from some twat in the states!

Basically paypal dont give a stuff, you have to make sure the buyer is verified, and you send by recorded else you loose your money if someone does a chargeback.

Basically the scum has probably paid with a stolen credit card and the real owner of the credit card has cancelled the payment!

thanks for letting me know thats the last time il use paypal. I ordered something from ebay last week and i payed the user etc but then had no reply so i emailed ebay and they said they cant do anything as he is no longer a user. I was like WTF, so that means someone can pay for an item they won and then the user can just get rid of his account. Luckily the person was genuine, but just shows you how shit and crap ebay is

me too i thought once you paid through paypal thats it . id be on the phone to paypal mate its suposed to be a secure way of paying over the web and that is just not on.if hes not happy he should have sent back the goods

I thought this too as well but have now totally change my opinion on paypal, i still use it even tho i shudnt but its convenient for online transactions! I no longer take any payments worth over 100 pounds tho now!

mate i ordered something and never got it, file a complaint with paypal and they just took the money back off him and back to me. was all real quick

quite scary really!

Paypal will just say the buyer wasnt verified. You shouldnt send to unverified buyers/addresses. They wont do anything, all they do is keep going thru the terms and condition speil!

Would a solution be to always empty out your Paypal account as soon as you receive money into it?

Or can Paypal take money automatically from your bank account (the one linked to your Paypal account) in the event of a chargeback?

That's what I do.

As soon as my account was verified I cancelled their direct debit to my account so they can't take any money when they feel like it. My PayPal account is solely funded by my credit card now, much better protection.

Mas, let me know how you get on with this if you persue it. (PM me if you like)

I'm in exactly the same position and looks like im going to lose out to the tune of £400! Basically someone had their account hijacked , paid me from that account, i sent the item but didn't notice the un-verified address!:(

2 weeks later the actual account holder noticed and cancelled the transactions.

I have the name and address of the person to whom the item was sent, (and signed for), checked 192.com and the same name comes up as the occupant of the address!

Police dont want to know, paypal/ebay dont want to know!! Surely this is classed as theft/fraud???

I'm currently e-mailing the Paypal financial ombudsman but i'm not too hopeful! Will let you know how i get on!

No your paypal account goes into minus figures, pretty sure that would give you a bad credit rating after a while!

I know nothing about law, but a possible option i've thought of would be to make it more hassle than its worth for them.

For example if i could make it so their their administration and legal costs etc come to more than the money owed.....surely they would just credit our accounts?

A long shot considering the amount of disclaimers and other legal documents they will have.....but possibly worth a go?

Rob unfortunately as you may have noticed by now we have no choice but to fight for our own case, I was on the phone with paypal cutomer services and it went to me started even shouting at the guy in paypal and he just put the phone down.

I ve been using paypal for few years now and TBH never had such problem before, although I have heard this is happenig to more and more people these days!!!!!!

The best way is to deal with people who have a verified account and not scum bags who use their mom's credit cards and register for a day to pay for the item and dont give a damn whats gonna happened to the seller.

I think he is just gonna get away with it as no body gives a F***K we are been mugged here.

E-mugging is basically what it is.

Except its a violence free method of theft with what is normally very little proof, so nobody wants to know.

I've boshed people's doors in and siezed their computers & records etc, only for the CPS to drop it saying it'll get nowhere at court.

Small claims court is your best bet if you can find the person who has done it.

Paypal suck cock.

I have had a dispute with them since April this year, they have a load of my money and they are not giving me it back!

You have probably seen my rant on other threads.

I am in the process of getting Watchdog and the FSA to contact them about thier practices.

They are totally useless.

the thing is, they just clear their own ass and once it doesnt harm them then dont want to know about it, no matter what !!!!

Im looking to find a better way to do my transactions online but they all seem to be the same and even more expensive than paypal, and still not secured enough!!!!!!!!

Thanks for the info Jake. I'd like to do the same thing but does it mean you have to transfer money into your Paypal account before using Paypal to buy something? And do you get charged more in the way of fees?
