RedM
I was coming off a roundabout this morning and exiting just ahead of me was a real shed of a Starlet. The exit was two lanes for a bit so I went to nip round it. As I caught it the driver gunned the engine and pulled a little so I pushed to about half throttle and eased by it. Matey boy then sits on my bumper and positions himself as if to overtake. Fat chance. Some time later, after a set of lights he does pass me and several others by driving across some white hatchings. I catch him at the lights (Tingley Hellabout FWIW). He zooms off to the next stop a few metres away. I roll up behind him. Ahead is a DCW and he is going to go for it. Lights change and he goes nowhere. I hear his revs climb and scream and then he's off like a rocket. I drive normally off the RA and when the road straightens up I plant it. He was caught in seconds. Then I back off in case the police are waving their hair-dryers about. It's all traffic after that and we eventually take different routes. No visible mods, loads of rust, normal zorst but it was quick off the mark (relatively speaking). Pity there wasn't a way of really handing his ass to him. BTW, also kept up with an RS4 on my local twisties last night. He was very much going for it. Every straight saw his back end squat down. He couldn't get away other than when I let him. Kept racing up behind him too. Had to laugh as we both slammed on at the top of a rise. Too easy to get airbourne there! That was fun, the Starlet was just weird. Todd
Taken from RS4 forum Why would you try your luck against a RS4 while driving a Supra?

michael
I race everything and anyone when I'm in other cars, it's boring otherwise - maybe he just wanted to make the journey more interesting? Or maybe he thought you had an NA so was in with a chance? Some of the Starlet GTs have 3S-GTE conversions so don't get too cocky
Gaz Walker
It wouldn't have even needed the 3S-GTE if its the same spec as Kevin's - it would have kicked the Supra's arse Gaz.

Gaz Walker
Erm - a lot! Blitz Turbo, engine work, cold air kit, de-cat, exhaust, lots of boost. Stripped interior, LSD, Coilovers, chassis bracing everywhere. About 800kg, 220hp at wheels and go-kart like handling ability Fair enough theres not many examples around like this but the Starlet (proper JDM Glanza models anyway) are not to be under-estimated! Gaz.
