jamesmark
When going double decat do you require a lamba sensor? What is likely to happen if you run a car without one? If i need one where is the best place to buy the flange only? So i can weld it on.
Jake
Are you talking about narrowband or wideband? A wideband is never a bad idea on any modded car but not strictly necessary on a BPU Supra. Getting the fueling checked on a dyno is recommended though
RobSheffield
Jake, i think Mark is asking about the Stock Lambda sensor
jamesmark
Not wideband Jake, sorry for the non tech but its the normal 02 sensor i.e the one that Nic does on his group buys.
Jake
Ah right, Leave it stock then. Unless you have reason to suspect your existing one is faulty. Don't even think of running the car without the stock one.
Kranz
Yes, you need it. Running without it will hurt the MPG and probably make it run in limp home mode as well as other problems. Is it supposed to be fitted before the first cat on the downpipe? I guess you don't have a boss on the first decat pipe??
jamesmark
Cheers Jake, thats one question answered, now the next. Where can I buy just a flange then to weld on as I have a decat pipe with no 02 flange.

It's located upstream of the first cat.
Robert
Ask CW if he has the correct flange.

No mate just a pipe with the gauze tpe of stuff round it in the middle. No flange, as in downpipe before the first cat, is that on the manifold? cause if its there then ok then. Jake
Thing is, iirc the lambda sensor is mounted in 'the downpipe' but what Toyota call the downpipe is the cast iron part between the exit of the turbo system and the first cat (or first decat pipe) ... ... whereas a lot of us say 'downpipe' when talking about the first decat pipe. I think this causes a lot of confusion sometimes.
Robert
Also not reading the question properly doesn't help when answering
