These pics are not very clear but as you can see the boxes are in perfect condition, the cams were still in the plastic bags till we took them out to take these pics for you......... The first two pics are intake and the second two are exhaust....hope this helps a bit.....

Yeah that was my thought - if the cams were hit/bent hard enough to break surely the packaging was damaged and obviously warranted immediate investigation?

The only cam I've heard of breaking was actually in an engine at the time, tightened down too much by Thor and snapped when the engine was turned over...

Are all couriers really this sh1t as to be able to break a cam?

Ive heard of a few cams breaking in transit before now over on Supraforums

Also find it strange, both broken in exactly the same place, and no damage to the packaging.

Do the breaks look clean, i.e. snapped, or twist breaks (not implying anything by this)

They could have been damaged at anytime, dont know if they were bought new previously - coulda happened in the factory

I am no metallurgist, but those breaks look odd. Would it seem correct to assume a continous pressure fracture as in sustained weight applied accross them over time

In the back of a delivery vehicle, large heavy item placed accross them, with them supported at either end on a soft item, that way the boxes wouldnt be damaged would they?

FWIW its broken right on an undercut, and the fracture looks as brittle as hell.

If a cam has not been hardened incorrectly (i.e no tjust on bearing surfaces and lobes) then this can happen because the undercuts are the most heavily loaded area. How the cam got whacked hard enough to actually do the breaking, Christ only knows.

This is the item number of the cams i bought on ebay 290032154153 if you can still find them. In this discription it says boxed and never fitted. PM'd the bloke last night and ive had no reply. But if he is lying will he admit it, I doubt it! So it looks like im £400 sheets down, jamies being good enough to post the cams back, but i cant see hks doing anything about it. Oh yeah i forgot to mention i never opened the box when they arrived and never posted them with any insurance, dont think they were insured when Joe Au sent them either. So i put it down to a learning experience. And no postie is leaving my house in a hurry again, dont trust anyone!
