Great event - if the weathers OK !

Getting out's a pain if you leave it to the end, but the jet cars & top fuel demo's are brilliant in the evening.

What I may do is to move the car half way through the afternoon to near the road / exit - works a treat at some other places we go to !

We will deffo be going if the weather looks good.

Anybody running ???

G

PS Anybody going this weekend (14/15th Oct ?) RWYB

  • 3 weeks later...

Just got back (Sat)...

Thanx to MrT and his beautiful white Supe for the lift.

Got there lunch time and watched quite a few god runs with cars & bikes inc jet / rocket cars, top fuel & funny cars.

A brilliant car (mini) control demo and a looney jumping ramps on a bike !

As it got dark, the top fuel / funny cars were having big problems getting the power down, but still loojked & sounded amazing, especially a candy-apple red Viper !

Sadly about 6.30 one of the jet cars went wrong, shutes came out almost straight away and the whole car burst into flames and slithered down the track to a stop - very nasty..:(

Couldn't see how the driver came out of it (although did hear a couple of people say he got out OK)... really hope so !

Pod was absolutely full to the brim, so decided to make a quick (!) exit which only took about an hour !

I bet some were waiting to get out for many hours.

Saw a couple of Supes in the car park - was it you ?

Anybody else confirm that the guy got out of the jet car OK ?

Cheers

G

Only just got home, the guy is ok from fireforce1:) :) :) ... the car ended up in the wall at the bottom in a pile of snot it was very nasty as Gatso said something went very wrong right from the start and he must have pulled whatever emergency systems they have shute/extinguishers. Three hours it took us to get out of the carpark then another two to get home.. had some fun with a evo through the streets of birmingham as the m6 was closed between 5-6

Just been over on the lancer register and read this, we saw the police and ambulances but jesus......

"Glad i didn't go today, just got off the phone to my pal (craig for those on here who know him) and he said it was a good day till the end and walking back to the car..

just about where the MLR stand has been the last couple of times this year, a firework came over from the camping area and hit the floor and exploded at the feet of his wife and 2 children..

So instead of going over all guns blazing, they keep going bearing in mind there is a crowd of 12 or so with them including kids.

But when the next one came over only just missing them, they needed a talking to HEY there's kids about..

thats when all hell broke loose,a massive punch up resulting in one of my good friends going to hospital to see if they can sow his finger back on which craig rooted round the grass to find...

i have never seen any of my friends in trouble like that... them and there wives AND KIDS are deverstated...and so am I.....

so be warned there are idiots out there who dont care less about doing this to people infront of there own children......."
