stupra
I don't know about the roads around your way, but the roads around here are crap, there are pot holes, raised strips, sunken man hole covers, and most of them look like patch work quilts where they've been dug up then filled in again and again, i'm swearing to myself about them all the time. The worst thing though has got to be the stones and chippings all over the place, they recently laid alot of that shell grip stuff around here, an the surplus has just been left on the roads, an you can hear it battering the car as you drive along, it really pisses me off. Whats happened to all the road sweepers ?, i've not seen one in ages !. It makes me wonder where the hell all our road tax cash goes. . Supragal
Go to Italy or such like. Then you'll know what lack of road tax does!! Drive on their motorways (which are tolled) and they are mint.
Charlotte
Moan moan moan...that's all I ever hear! "The NHS is shite", "houses are too expensive", "fuel is over taxed", "insurance is a rip off", "my car is an NA"... Actually the NHS is shite. My grandma fell over on Sunday and broke both her shoulder blades, fractured large amount of her back and broke her pelvis. She had internal bleeding on Monday and she's been waiting two days for CAT scan, oh and she's 90.

hogmaw
are roads are rubish because our road tax pays for new speed camaras and laser traps ...which increases revenue from fines and slows traffic which reduces accidents therefore keeping people out of hospital and reducing pressure on the nhs... aido
I don't think I've seen anywhere in the country where the roads are as bad as Sheffield - just check out the bypass from the city centre to the M1 and you'll know what I mean! It's proper wrong! As for the NHS, hope your gran gets better Charlotte, the problem is that not all trusts are made equal - some are much better than others to be honest. My mum's been in hospital for 7 months now and I've pretty much spent every day of that at the hospital at some point, and to be honest, in our experience, you couldn't ask for much more of them! I've been all over the world, an there are alot worse roads than ours, but I don't pay road tax for them, and wasn't driving my soop about, getting stone chips all over it, so I didn't give a shit. flukey-lukey
I don't think I've seen anywhere in the country where the roads are as bad as Sheffield - just check out the bypass from the city centre to the M1 and you'll know what I mean! It's proper wrong! This is very true. Makes me feel like writing a letter to the council explaining why I will be billing them for a full respray AND the gritters in the winter do my head in!!! This is one of the many reason I'm taking the supra off the road and safely tucking it up in my sisters garage over winter
