Ambrose7
Hi guys, driving home from work on friday, i noticed a weird feeling like i had a nail in my tyre, i got out, checked all round and the tyres were fine, good i thought, got home and parked up. then i took it out for a spin yesterday, and it still feels the same, but its getting worse, and it seems to be under breaking more than crusing, it feels like the car is slightly jumping up and down, tested it again today and its now a heavy shuder under breaking, and when driving at a constant speed i can feel it shudering and starting to make a slight grinding noise. can anyone point me in the right direction where to look for problems? getting a bit scared to drive it now! thanks
matt
Check the wheel nuts............ I assume you checked the tyre pressures , and didn't just look at 'em?

matt
Better jack up each corner and make sure nothing's fallin' off then! Check disc/pads for probs Also check for any stickin calipers, play in bearings, joints etc. Grab the wheel top&bottom check for play Grab the wheel at 3&9 o'clock and check for any play Stick a big bar under the tyre at 6 o'clock and lift up .. look for play in joints
LeeT
if your car is jumping up and down like you say, i would check the rear shocks.
SimonB
Well, shudder under braking points to warped discs. I had some on my old Celica that warped so much they were throwing the balance of the wheel off too so you could feel it even when not braking. Or it could be a wheel bearing.
