To cut long story short my car was spot on & running 100% perfect just had full engine bling done by supradibbs & to finish it off had Polished power steering resevoir tank as well.

All that was done was changed over power steering resevoir tank cleared air lock all was fine & after 10 mins power steering seized.

Next day fitted secondhand power steering pump cleared air once again after 10 mins power steering stop working.

Next day fitted another power steering pump bleed system all fine after driving for about 30 miles power steering stoped working again

Now im fuming.

Got another power steering pump again to change tomorrow now but worried after 3 attempts will it happen again ?????????????

CAR POWER STEERING WAS ABSOULATLY FINE & PERFECT TILL FITTED REPLACEMENT POLISHED POWER STEERING RESEVOIR TANK THEN ALL THIS HAPPENS

On all ocassions power system system was fully bleeed & running fine & when stop working was impossible to re-bleed ??????????

Lui, when the pumps are replaced does it work briefly theen stop??
I can answer this for Lui as I was speaking to him earlier. Yes, the PAS works for like 30 mins then stops working again. He's had this several times now

Does anyone think this could be Steering Rack??

It does seem like that may be the problem but why would changing the PAS fluid reservoir for a bling one make the rack suddenly fail? It's too much of a coincidence isn't it?

Unless the first pump that failed contaminated the fluid with swarf and that has been pumped around the system and knackered the seals in the rack?

That would a heavy price to pay for a bit of bling! :(

Quit possibly, spoke to Lui earlier today or yesterday should I say at JapShow.

Bit coincidental that pumps been replaced, all be it for low mileage used one, to lose assistance again. There should be some sort of pressure valve on the rack to govern the assitance/fluid pressure, maybe thats playing up.

Theres not that much to the powersteering system (bar the electrical progressive power steering bit) which should still give some small amount of assitance if that was playing up ie what you get at speed i would have thought.

If theres no assistance at all, rack could be suspect would have thought fluid might be pissin into bellows if seals had gone but Lui said no leaks.

Could be worth swapping the suspect pump onto a donor car, might be worth flushing the pump thru with a little clean fluid before slapping it onto someone elses car 1st just incase, just to eliminate new pump, chech your hydraulic lines are ok, not kinked and you might be lookin for a new/low milage used rack.

Good thinking that man  Would definatly prove if it's the pump or not.

Just make sure get some fresh fluid thru it though, don't wanna be killing 2 PAS systems for the price of a bling resevoir!

Quite possible blinging process put crap into system, there is a mesh.strainer in the resevoir to stop crap getting in there when topping it up if i remember rightly, if there was crap behind it would Lui know it was there, not sure if the bling job would come with mesh/strainer installed.

guys the stuff generated from polishing these leaves alot off very obvious debris looks like soggy cotton wool i have been assured by greg that they was nothing in the tank and besides these are allways dropped in a tank to make sure crap is removed

i checked over luis car yesterday and all i can put this down too is a faulty cap to sealing correctly i belive he is gonna order a brand new one from toyota and fit along with the new pas pump so see what happens then am sure if the seals had gone on the rack he would know about it!!!

Lui!!!! Anymore news???

Was back to turbo fit today fiting another old pump but this was a dodgy one as when turning pully when mounted on pump bench assembled & turning pulley it was not running true had serious wobble on it so ordered new power steering pump today & back to turbo fit tomorrow to have it fitted hopefully with brand new pump this will cure it.

Marco had similar trouble on his motor too fitted secondhand one & still trouble so he went for new one & problem cured hopefully will be same for me tomorrow when new one gets fitted
