PC running very slow

Recommended Posts

My PC has started to run very slowly - especially when using Outlook. It even locks up on accasions too.

I have masses of space left on my hard drive (90 gig out of 114) but it is still playing up.

I have run Lava Soft Adaware and deleted a few things but nothing really malicious. Is there anything else I can do? Any other programs I can try?

Have you installed anything lately, even if you've de-installed it after?

COuld be time for a format/install.. You have partitioned your HD into Windows/Data?

No and no. It seems to run slowly when acessing things through Outlook. pretty good with everything else.

Just out of interest what is being run at startup, you are interested in the Startup and services tabs to start with. There is an option in services to hide Microsoft ones to see the wood from the trees so to speak.

Is it running slowly because of Outlook or all the time? If Outlook is the route of it it could be a mailer type virus/malware or just a case of reinstallation.
