JamesArup
Hey all, I'm still having trouble with the Supra not boosting properly, and the BOV is still totally silent . I decided to take the BOV out and inspect it a bit closer. It's mounted on the hardpipe next to battery, so I took the whole pipe out. The attached pics are what I found inside the pipes ... that's bad, right  I also totally dismantled the BOV, and I couldn't find anything wrong with it really, so I don't think that's my problem. How strong should the vacuum be on the small pipe that goes into the back of the BOV (HKS SSQV)? I disconnected it, and put my finger on the end of the pipe.... there really doesn't seem to be much force in the vacuum at all, I wouldn't expect it to be able to pull the BOV open! Everything worked fine before my car went off the road for 8 months. I got it back, the BOV worked for about 2 days and then just went silent. That was about 6 weeks ago now, and I still haven't figured it out ... it's getting irritating now! Cheers, J
Soonto_HAS_soop
How many times did you start it during the time it was off road?
JamesArup
The guys in the bodyshop fired it up and made sure it was running at least once a month .... I think
Scooby
Im not sure and will prob be set right but, im guessing if there is that much rust inside the hardpipe then the internal componets of the BOV will be the same. Can you dismantle the BOV and clean the rust off?
JamesArup
I did dismantle the BOV. It was fine in there. There was a slight 'deposit' of some white corrosion, but nothing bad at all. I I'm fairly sure the BOV is ok ... unless anyone in the area has one I can just test to be sure Cheers, O

JamesArup
D'oh ... nevermind. But, despite the BOV not working, I assume the rust is also a bad thing?
