miko_supra
I just see this as a waste of time, the best chance of getting a meaningful dyno list is to have everyone use the same place to get their cars done. There are too many dyno centers around that provide iffy results. I feel there should be something simple done. 20 odd cars some standard and some with the mods that everyone always wants to know about concerning bhp/torgue increase... supra sz supra tt (jap) supra tt (uk) supra sz (full decat and catback) supra n/a-t supra tt bpu supra single turbo obviously have a few of each when it comes to the larger mods as everyone has different sized turbos etc. The only issue is that this would be nice and usefull to quickly look at but there will always be others who claim the figures aren't like theres with similar mods rah rah blah blah ANGER! miko_supra
btw i know there are plenty more variations concerning major modifications, just a small list off the top of my head.

Matt H
Perhaps you could group the dyno's by test centre and therefore get a comparison against each other in that group. Or is it causing more bother! I see what you mean but its only a bit of a laugh, maybe going a bit far that! at the end of the day i would hope that everyone would see it like that and not go all bike vs supra on it!! lol

I just think an overall view of the total power would be the best format then if you want to know what that cars spec is (apart from the basics which would be displayed) then a link to futher info. I also think that limiting the dyno chart to say 20 cars in a selection of catorgories is wrong. At the end of the day we are a large club with many members, most not having the ability to have a 100bhp supra, so limiting to just the top lot would make it a rather anti "club" thing that would only interest a select few. If everyone could be involved then it makes it more appealing, u know, get you car on the chart regardless of power and beome involved. Wez
I think a one liner with something like this would be good :- Owner / bhp / torque / dyno center / link

But more to the point i just said 20 odd cars or so as not every single person interested is gnna be able to take there cars to the same dyno. But if something like that MR2 data was produced that would certainly be allot better. i was just keeping it short and sweet.
bromy
It could be in one of those small sub sections linked to MKIV technical just showing a leader board of the HP for all cars, in both FLY and wheel power and a link to everyones dyno charts / garages too if thats what people wanted. Obviously with as much detail as pos. What does everyone think as a club? Matt, really dont think having fly is a good idea, although the roads will vary slightly they will never vary as much as the operators calculations when it comes to guessing the fwhp, we have seen in this club operators using as high as 30 odd percent tranny loss, so my vote would be for rwhp only with a note at side for auto/manual

(if this is what you mean) This is fine if you follow it as it expands, but supposed you're a newbie or just havnt been bothered to read it, its just gnna be a big mass of numbers on a page being very hard to read. Max Headroom
I know what you mean by different dyno's. At a recent RR day a member had a difference of 133bhp less from a previous RR to what he had on that day.
miko_supra
133bhp difference! golly thought it would be a case of +/- 10 bhp

Bobbeh
I'll give JPSEC Germany a call see if hes up for coming over to Manchester for a group session!! lol. Its not going to happen mate! I know.. but whats the point in having a list with someone getting figures from a dyno meant for 200bhp limits and comparing it to someone on a 2000bhp rated dyno. Even some of the more well known places seem to have fun fudging their results or have shown vast differences from one day to another - not being temperature related. Then you have the fly/rwhp and rhhp debate. What % different dyno technicians decide to say is the calculated loss for flywheel amounts. You can always create a list with mods/spec etc and even where it was done, but to turn it into anything really meaningful is a bit optimistic. Muffleman
The thing is, drag run times aren't like for like either, ambient temps, tyre pressures, tyre brands, wind speeds etc etc. I say go for it, take it with a pinch of salt and see how it goes. Oh, and if you go for a power run at Thor, we're taking 10% off
MONKEYmark
way too many factors to take into account.same car at different rolling roads get different calculations.michael has been to a few dyno places.if you take it as a rough guide it could be something to add intrest to dyno people.i never fancied going on a dyno. with different tracks and same car i have pulled mid 12`s before at elvington/york dragway and santapod.dont they say the black dyno never lies.also with terminal speeds that supposed to be a good indication to your power levels. there is loads of options you can list jap turbos,uk steel turbos, hybrid stage 1 2 and 3 fuel used, boost u running.auto/manual. the small list i did in drag thread was just a rough guide from thor racing. Theo
I like when a plan comes together. Some of the above are simply thinking too much. I say just start a table and see how it goes. End of the day, dyno figures are simply pub talk.
Ian C
I predict a riot I'll try not to grind my teeth when someone with stock turbos posts up 480bhp and someone with 550cc injectors submits 600+bhp. -Ian

Homer
You're probably right Ian, but no harm in giving it a go. I thin there should be some groundrules though: first RWHP figures only! Second - Thor figures don't count
