Theo
Hey guys, I was wondering whether there is a dyno table on the forum showing just what power each individual's Supra is putting out? Thanks, Theo
Homer
Nope, there isn't one.
Theo
Might be an idea (for someone with know how of updating table)! May be with a small description of mods too which could give others an idea of whats required to reach x hp. What do others think!?
Alex
It would start too many arguments.... if you check the drag racing post though there is a table of some results.
Ewen
It would start too many arguments... We could start by agreeing on what a standard TT J spec puts out:d or should that be:hide:
Theo
How about regardless of signgle, twins, n/a, 3.1l etc I was thinking in it's simpleast form. 1. Name / Type of Supra (single, twin, n/a) / Power / Place of dyno / Result (atw, ath) Thoughts??
bromy
Think if this was to be done only 'at the wheels' power should be submitted as Alex said though argument city
Suprasteve
different rolling road machines produce different figures right ? that would have to be stated as well . i.e. mine was done at Surrey Rolling Road. Also what time of year i.e. winter/summer cos wouldn't that make a difference to? Would be an idea tho as long as, already suggested, rear wheel figures only. Jap 1994 Manual Blitz Nur spec Exhaust, double decat, Fuel Pump, FCD, Boost Controller Standard Twin Turbos @ 1.2 Bar Surrey Rolling Road Ltd April 327 RWBHP 329 LB Torque
Alex
Rear wheel or rear hub...etc etc...it's a mine field... Nobody ever has all the right information...and no dyno is the same.
Gaz Walker
Thats true, but its like debating drag racing times based on different places etc. I think it would be interesting to see. Gaz.
Alex
If you're seriously interested in bettering what MonkeyMark's done then I'd suggest the ONLY way to do it is for A person to take in all the results + as much info as possible, find the common fields etc and produce a spreadsheet. Max Headroom
How about A. Supra Model SZ B. NA or Turbo (Stock or otherwise) NA C. Boost running (TT) N/A D. BHP at the Fly wheel 220 E. BHP at the rear wheel 178.6 F. Date tested 240906 G. Where tested Weston Performance H. Mods done RSR Exhust, 2nd Decat
Alex
Yes that sort of thing...but like I say you're better off collating all the information you can get off the owners and then turning it into a spreadsheet...not trying to second guess it first. But yes a spreadsheet would be better
Wez
This is a cool idea EDIT: we should add torque as well.
Matt H
Yeah good idea, but proof of dyno would have to be submitted too!
michael
I've posted this before but I still think it's one of the most effective comparison tools for this kind of thing: http://www.mr2mania.com/plot.php
Matt H
Yeah i carnt see people complaining myself at the end of the day its only a rough figure anyhows. But if a result did get complained about then a statment of arguement could be put to the club and a poll could be used to decide upon whether it gets removed or not
Matt H
P.s i wouldnt mind being responsible for collating it and keeping it updated. Would quite like to put something back into the club. It could be in one of those small sub sections linked to MKIV technical just showing a leader board of the HP for all cars, in both FLY and wheel power and a link to everyones dyno charts / garages too if thats what people wanted. Obviously with as much detail as pos. What does everyone think as a club?
miko_supra
i was thinking about this the other day. nice easy to read stuff too i think would be good, especially for newbies.

It would be interesting and would make a nice little addition to the club

Bobbeh
Yeah good idea, but proof of dyno would have to be submitted too! I just see this as a waste of time, the best chance of getting a meaningful dyno list is to have everyone use the same place to get their cars done. There are too many dyno centers around that provide iffy results.

There are too many dyno centers around that provide iffy results. Perhaps you could group the dyno's by test centre and therefore get a comparison against each other in that group. Or is it causing more bother!
