Paul -C-
My driver side headlight needs refurbed, so I read the guide and bought all the stuff needed yesterday. After 2 hours of trying to get the 3 screws out I gave up cos my socket wasn't long enough to get the final screw out. I went back today with another socket set and set about it. I had to remove the full airbox and hoses to get to the last screw. Took me a while, since I've never done anything like it before. After I eventually get all 3 screws out and disconnect the headlight I spend 30 mins trying to get the headlight out, but it just wouldn't come out. I guess it's not getting past either the wing or the aftermarket bumper. I thought about trying to take the bumper off but I gotta stop somewhere. Fuck it, I'm pissed off now Guess I'll have to go to Toyota and let them fit a new one
michael
I took mine out last weekend, dried it out on the radiator for 2 days and then without baking to remove the glass I sealed up all the cracks I could find - upon checking the drying time for the sealant I realised I'd bought one that never dried - some kind of gutter crap - so then had to remove all the gunk to use proper stuff. Anyway I refitted it and smiled at the prospect of saving £120 - this inspired me to go for a drive (in the dry) and by the time I got home it was fogged up again Supra headlamps are evil If you have the 3 bolts out then it should slide out, you might need to pursuade the threaded bar that it doesn't want to grip the mount on the wing but otherwise the hardest bit I found was getting the plugs on the bulbs to seperate. Now I'm deciding how to go from here... £120 and a new unit as I did with the other side or cook them and spray the insides black... wish I'd have done this before I sold my old glass one really! Paul -C-
I slid it and wiggled it every way I could, but it was just not for coming out. I really wanted to paint the inside black, but I guess I'll have to be happy with a shiny new one minus £120:(
